Lincolnshire to Brace for Heavy Rain Following Storm Babet
Parts of Lincolnshire are preparing for significant rainfall following the recent effects of Storm Babet. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, valid from 3 am until 4 pm on Tuesday, October 24.
Impending Flood Threat
The advisory warns of potential further flooding due to the expected downpour. This includes regions such as Lincoln, Sleaford, Horncastle, and Market Rasen in Lincolnshire, all of which are bracing for the heavy and persistent rain.
Weather Predictions Detailed
The Met Office has also provided detailed forecasts for these areas. For Lincoln, the 3 am forecast predicts heavy rain, with a 90 per cent chance of precipitation. This is expected to ease to light rain by 5 am, with the likelihood of rain dropping to 70 per cent. The throughout the day, the forecast predicts variation of the intensity of the rainfalls.
The forecasts for the other regions are as follow:
- Sleaford is expected to experience light rain, beginning at 3 am and easing off by 5 am. The rest of the day will likely be cloudy.
- In Horncastle, light rain is forecasted from 3 am, intensifying to heavy rainfall by 5 am before easing at 7 am. The rest of the day is predicted to be cloudy.
- Market Rasen is projected to receive heavy rainfall at 3 am, which will likely decrease in intensity by 6 am. Nevertheless, bouts of rain are expected to persist until 6 pm.

For the remainder of the week, from Wednesday, October 25 until Friday, October 28, the Met Office is predicting a changeable climate, characterized by drier weather, variable clouds, sporadic sunshine, scattered showers and periods of rain.
