Yellow Weather Warning for Heavy Rain in Lincolnshire

Yellow Weather Warning Issued Across Lincolnshire

A yellow weather warning has been put into effect by the Met Office for parts of Lincolnshire in anticipation of heavy rain and strong winds. The warning came into effect from 9pm on Thursday, October 12, and is anticipated to last until 8pm on the following day, Friday, October 13.

Regions Under-warning

The districts expected to bear the brunt are Lincoln, Skegness, Spalding, and Bourne. The forecast predicts that the severe weather may lead to some disturbances to usual travel schedules on Friday.

"People can expect spray and flooding on roads which could lead to extended journey times, flooding of a few homes and businesses, and potential disruption to bus and train services."

Weather Update Issued

The Met Office issued this update at 10am on Thursday, as the anticipated impact area of the severe weather has extended further north and east across England.

Safety Advice in Heavy Rain

To stay safe in the inclement weather, the weather forecasters have advised charging mobile devices, storing valuables in high places and, for those behind the wheel, reducing speed and sticking to main roads where possible. It's also anticipated that the weather will cause gusts of wind reaching 45 to 50mph inland and as high as 60mph on some southern coasts.
