Yellow Weather Warning: Storm Agnes Sweeps Across Lincolnshire

The UK, including Lincolnshire, is in the grip of Storm Agnes this week, with powerful winds creating possible disruptions. As of midday Wednesday, September 27, tThe Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning that will last until 7am the following day.

Stern Warnings on Potential Impact

Lincolnshire faces the possibility of winds almost touching 40mph in areas such as Lincoln, Grantham, Boston and Skegness. The weather alert indicates potential damage to buildings due to the strong winds. Furthermore, power cuts and transport disruption are expected, with certain roads and bridges possibly closing.

A Detailed Look at the Forecast

For Wednesday, September 27, winds in Lincoln are projected to hit 19mph at noon while temperatures stay at 16C, gradually rising to 36mph by 7pm with a constant temperature of 18C. The following day, Thursday, September 28, the wind speed is predicted to hit a high of 37mph around midnight with an accompanying temperature of 16C.

In Grantham, wind speeds are predicated to gradually increase to 34mph by 7pm on Wednesday, September 27, where the temperature will hold at 18C. Similar to Lincoln, winds are expected to peak around midnight the following day to 37mph.

Boston and Skegness also anticipate high winds with an ascending pattern similar to other areas in the county. The highest wind speed on Wednesday for Boston is expected to be 33mph at 7pm, with 18C. For Skegness, on the same day, winds could reach a maximum of 38mph at 6pm, with the temperature holding at 18C.

Projections for Thursday, September 28 in all areas anticipate slightly decreased temperatures along with slightly reduced wind speeds.
