Unexpected Incident Disrupts Lincolnshire Rail Services

Rail services in Lincolnshire have encountered severe disruption following an unfortunate incident of a person hit by a train. The disruption has led to the closure of the line connecting Lincoln to Grimsby Town, as emergency services focus on managing the situation.

Rail Disruption Affecting Both Directions

Implications of the incident have rendered all train services unable to traverse in both directions, provoking potential delays for travellers. The extent of any injuries from the incident is currently unknown, with the local police yet to comment.

Comments from East Midlands Railway

"We are very sad to report that a person has been hit by a train between Grimsby Town and Lincoln. The emergency services are managing the incident. We are trying to source alternative transport to keep you on the move," a spokesperson for East Midlands Railway announced on X.

Alternative Arrangements for Travellers

Arrangements for alternative transport are in place, with several replacement buses scheduled. Travellers can expect to add an additional hour to their usual journey time due to the changed routes. Details of the replacement bus service are stated below:

As a direct result of the incident, trains operating on the Barton-on-Humber route are due to terminate and start again at Ulceby.
