A17 Lincolnshire Car Fire Causes Major Traffic Congestion

A vehicle fire on the A17 in Lincolnshire is causing severe traffic delays, according to recent reports. Notably, the car is situated near the junction for Stragglethorpe and Brant Broughton, leading to partial road blockage.

Traffic Conditions Worsen as Blaze Continues

In response to the ongoing situation, traffic control system Inrix has warned motorists that the road remains partially blocked with substantial queueing traffic. This interruption is negatively impacting traffic from Leadenham to Newark on Trent.

Traffic Congestion Captured on Google Maps

Internet-based mapping resource Google Maps provided a snapshot of the problem, showing heavy congestion along the A17. Particularly noticeable is the traffic backed up from the A607 turn-off right up to Sleaford road.

Fire Causes Remain a Mystery

Although the fire has seemingly caused significant traffic disruption, it’s unclear as of now what ignited the fire or whether any injuries have been reported. Both Lincolnshire Police and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have been alerted to the situation and are expected to provide further details in due course.
