Tattershall Road Closure: Essential Rejuvenation Works Underway
A crucial road in Tattershall, Lincolnshire is due for closure in light of much-needed reconstruction works on a aged footway. The road, located at Thorpe Place, is expected to be closed for an estimated two months as the reconstruction works take place.
New Footway to Renew Thorpe Place
Starting from Tuesday, October 31, works to replace the dilapidated footway will commence. A 24-hour closure will be strictly enforced during these periods, with the main restoration work happening between 7.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays.
Improved Infrastructure in Tattershall
"The footway at Thorpe Place in Tattershall has reached the end of its serviceable life, so we’ve taken the decision to fully rebuild it to improve its structural integrity," says Richard Fenwick, Head of Highways Asset and Local Management Services. The renovation plan includes the removal of the old footway, followed by the installation of a freshly-laid surface. Additional new crossing points are to be incorporated, enhancing the infrastructure for residents.
Minimal Disruption Expected
Efforts will be made to minimise the inevitable disruption caused by this extensive work. The local council and involved workers are committed to ensuring retained access for businesses and residents throughout the project's duration. Fenwick adds, "We’ll be doing everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum, including maintaining access for residents and businesses throughout the project." He additionally expressed his gratitude to all those affected, appealing for their patience.
