Fatal Collision on Busy Lincolnshire Road
A severe traffic accident on a bustling Lincolnshire passageway has claimed the life of a man in his 70s. The incident occurred on the A52 between Grantham and Osbournby and urged Lincolnshire Police to caution travellers to evade the area.
Details of the Incident
The collision, described as 'serious' by the Lincolnshire Police, took place on Thursday, October 12, around 3 pm. A spokesperson for the force announced the following day that, "A man, aged in his 70s, has died following a collision on the A52, between Grantham and Osbournby. The two-vehicle collision was reported at 2.49 pm yesterday."
Roadway Closure
Following the incident, the A52 was sealed in both directions, disrupting traffic movement. The road remained blocked for numerous hours as the investigation around the accident was underway by emergency services.
Air Ambulance Attendance
Witnesses at the scene reported the arrival of an air ambulance which landed in an adjacent field before leaving the scene. The road closure, according to traffic monitor Inrix, began from the Haceby turn-off up to the Ropsley turn-off.
Despite the closure, traffic along the A52 was otherwise functioning smoothly, as per Google Maps information.
