Multi-Car Accident on A46 leads to Hospital Trip

A46 Car Crash Sends Some People to Hospital

A severe vehicular accident involving three cars transpired on the eastbound lane of the A46 shortly before reaching Pennells roundabout. The incident occurred at 8.28 am on Wednesday, October 4, and led to some individuals involved in the accident being hurriedly transported to the hospital.

Details of the Crash

The crash transpired around the vicinity of the A46 near Hykeham roundabout leading to severe traffic congestion. Traffic monitoring system Inrix documented the slow traffic movement on the roundabout and reported a partial blockage of the area due to the accident aftermath. Furthermore, there was evidence of heavy congestion along the A46 from Hykeham Roundabout to the Halfway House Roundabout as seen on Google Maps traffic.

First Responders at the Scene

An off-duty officer who was passing the area at the time quickly rushed to provide immediate assistance at the scene. Subsequent assistance arrived in the form of other officers and ambulance crews proceeding towards the scene. A commendably responsive off-duty nurse also stopped at the scene to lend a helping hand.

"Some of those involved have been taken to hospital for further treatment."

Lincolnshire Police expressed gratitude to all those who stepped up at the scene providing immediate assistance and support. The road was unblocked and cleared for use again by 10.45 am subsequent to the crash.
