Lincolnshire Council Forewarns of Traffic Delays due to Funeral Procession

A Traveller's Funeral Procession to Cause Traffic Disruption in Lincoln

On Monday October 9, a funeral procession expected to start at 8 am in the city of Lincoln may cause significant traffic disruption, warns the Lincolnshire County Council. The procession, believed to be a traveller's funeral, will initiate from Macauley Street and traverse through Monks Road and Outer Circle Road, before its final halt at Long Leys cemetery.

Anticipated Traffic Disruption During Rush Hour

The procession is expected to be a large one with several large vehicles including limousines involved. This means road users are likely to face a considerable challenge during typical rush hour on Monday morning. The county council has advised commuters to plan accordingly and possibly leave earlier than usual for their morning commute, or identify alternative routes if necessary.

A Lincolnshire County Council spokesperson remarked "There is a funeral procession planned in Lincoln on Monday, October 9, from 8am and we are advising road users that there may be some traffic disruption as a result."

Route Details

The procession route will move from Macauley Street to St Hugh's Church in Broadgate, proceeding via Outer Circle Road and Monks Road. The procession will then cross the Lindum Road junction onto the B1308, from where it will move onto the B1273, before finally reaching Long Leys Road and ending at the cemetery.
