Brief Arraignment Held for Man Charged with Murder of Woman in West Ashby
Shaun Emmerson, a 50-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Christine Emmerson, aged 71. This announcement was made by the Lincolnshire Police, following Christine’s discovery deceased in her home on Kirk Close, West Ashby, on Thursday, August 3.
The accused, Shaun Emmerson, appeared in Lincoln Crown Court from Lincoln HMP Prison via video link. He was dressed in a grey jumper for his first court appearance.
Legal Representation
Emmerson’s defence is being handled by Barister Clive Stockwell KC, while Christopher Donnellan KC is in charge of prosecution. The court's presiding official on the case is His Honour Judge Simon Hirst.
"I’m going to put this case off until December 8,"
Judge Hirst addressed Emmerson at the conclusion of the hearing.
A subsequent court date slated as a mention hearing has thus been scheduled for December 8, 2023.
Anticipated Trial Date
Moreover, a tentative date for Emmerson’s trial is expected to be February 12, 2024. Emmerson has neither pleaded guilty nor not guilty to the charges as of yet.
