New Leisure Centre Proposed for Willows Caravan Park
Plans for a new leisure centre at the Willows Caravan Park in Maltby le Marsh, near Mablethorpe, have been submitted. If approved, this coastal caravan park is set to see significant enhancements.
Proposed Amenities
The proposed leisure centre will include a swimming pool and gym. Constructed on an existing part of the site's golf course, the proposed location is next to the current hardstanding used to show static homes and caravans for sale.
A Modern Design With Sustainability In Mind
A spokesperson for the applicant, Don Amott, stated, "The main pool would be 1.2m deep and measure 12 by six metres. A nearby children's pool would be four by four metres and half a metre deep." Furthermore, visitors to the reception area can look forward to a large window that'll provide a good view of the pool.
Considerations for energy efficiency and sustainability are paramount in the proposed design. The developers are considering either an air source or ground source to heat the pool.
Flood Mitigation Measures
With the proposed site falling into a high-risk flood area, the Don Amott team has planned several risk mitigation measures. These include building the centre above predicted flood levels, registering managers with the Environment Agency's flood warning direct system, and training staff on suitable evacuation procedures and escape routes.
A decision on the proposed project will be made by the East Lindsey District Council's planning department in due course.
