Rebos Department Store in Boston Ceases Trading: A Great Loss for the Town
Rebos, a popular department store in Boston, has closed down once again after two years of operations. Located in Strait Bargate, it was well-known for offering not only a wide range of products, but also a café, restaurant, and play area for children. The store had originally ceased trading in April, but opened its doors again three weeks later, fueling hope among Boston's shoppers.
Short-Lived Revival and Subsequent Closure
But sadly, the revival of Rebos was short-lived. Despite the owner, Serkan Arslan's optimism, the department store struggled to retain its foothold in the market. In mid-August, a closing down sale was initiated, with discounts available on all stock and fixtures.
The store issued an unfortunate announcement on October 30: "It is with deep sadness that Rebos Boston Limited has ceased trading. The store has now closed and this includes the café, restaurant, customer toilets and Rebosplay, at this time."
Rebos' Closure: A Big Loss
Many local shoppers expressed their sorrow over the closure of the store, describing it as a huge blow to the local community. Comments ranging from gratitude for the store's efforts, to dejection over its closure, poured in on social media platforms like Facebook.
"Thank you for trying against a backdrop of such negativity around the world.", expressed one Facebook user, while another wistfully commented, "This is such a sad loss to the town no matter how you try to analyse the closure." Furthermore, the undesired implications of this event for Boston were also touched upon by another user, adding, "This will be a big loss for Boston".
The statement from Rebos indicated they are selling off fixtures and fittings, and interested parties can arrange to buy or collect via email. End of an era, the store thanked all its customers for their support over the last two years.
