Illegal Cannabis Farm Discovered After Property Fire in Lincolnshire Town

Local police discovered a large-scale cannabis grow when attending to a property fire in Boston, Lincolnshire. The emergency services were summoned to the incident on Witham Street, on Monday, September 25.

Major Firefighting Operation

Fire crews utilised two hose reels, breathing apparatus and a portable fan to put out the fire, ensuring the area was safely ventilated afterwards. The property suffered light smoke damage, as well as fire damage to some of its electrical wiring and metal piping.

Police Investigation Launched

Further investigation of the scene led Lincolnshire Police to unearth an unexpected criminal operation. Approximately 100 cannabis plants were found spread out over three floors of the residential building. Officers are now diligently investigating.

"Deep Connecting With Wider Criminality"

"We are appealing for anyone with any information to call us in relation to this find. Cannabis production is far from being harmless: it is often linked to wider, organised criminality which is why tackling the wider issue of drug supply is one of our key priorities."

These were the words of Detective Inspector Kara Nicholson, who expressed the police force's commitment to halting such illicit activity. She stressed how drug production gives rise to greater organised crime, and emphasised the firm resolution of Lincolnshire Police to combat this problem head-on.

Fire and Rescue Statement

"Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue attended a small fire at a property on Witham Street in Boston. It resulted in fire damage to some electrical wiring and metal piping.
