Boston Borough Council Offers Free Parking for Holiday Season
As a part of a unique festive gesture, the Boston Borough Council is opening up their council-owned car parks for free parking over a duration of four weeks. This scheme, set in place to ease the burden of holiday shopping, comes as good news for residents and visitors alike.
The free parking services will be available commencing at 4 pm on Thursday, 23rd November and will run up until 4 pm on Sunday, 26th November. Furthermore, the scheme will be extended each Saturday in December 2023; including 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd.
Councillor Sandeep Ghosh, portfolio holder for finance at the Boston Borough Council, said, "We want to make it as convenient as possible for people to come together and celebrate the joy of the season. Free parking is our way of giving back to the community and enhancing the festive spirit in Boston."
Supporting Local Businesses and Community Spirit
The council believes that the initiative will encourage the townspeople to explore Boston’s festive offerings, and add to the season’s cheer. From gift shopping to savouring local event or dining out, the gesture is aimed at supporting local businesses and fostering a sense of community during the holiday season.
