A recent study published in Science Direct discusses whether or not mobile phones appear in our dreams and if they can potentially influence their content. The study indicates that the narrative of dreams varies depending on gender. It’s observed that dreams of women are more likely to include conversation and dialogues, while men's dreams involve more physical activity.
It's believed that people have multiple dreams every night. However, approximately 95% of these dreams are forgotten after waking up. As a result, questioning whether mobile phones had indeed made appearances in dreams becomes debatable.

With this interesting revelation, social media users, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter) users, found themselves embroiled in a heated debate. A tweet by the user Zephyr_on_call, asking why phones, despite being a daily staple, seem absent in dreams went viral. The user tweeted, "How is it 2023 and nobody’s come up with a satisfying explanation as to why cell phones never show up in our dreams if we’re using them for 12 hours a day?"
Does One See Phones in Dreams?
A research according to Verdict states that 3.5% of adult women report seeing their mobile phones in their dreams compared to 2.6% of men. Despite this, social media users remain divided over the fact.
One user, RamajEroc, reflecting on the study, stated, "Now that I think about it, I’ve never seen anyone on a phone in my dreams." EmaazDR expressed surprise, stating, "OH WOAH NOW I AM QUESTIONING EVERYTHING". MisterNeedless revealed, "Interesting…I literally never dreamed of anything electronic: phones, TVs, laptops, etc. Never."
On the other hand, users like GioHustles, Le_shallot, Tsarnick, and Kinnett have had different experiences, as they pointed out they’ve seen phones in their dreams. The common problem, however, appears to be the struggle to use the phones effectively during dreams.
