Ghost Child 'Amanda': A Friendly Presence in Lincolnshire Home

Ghost Child 'Amanda': A Friendly Presence in Lincolnshire Home

Lincolnshire Mum Alleges Presence of Ghost Child in Home

A Lincolnshire mother believes her home to be haunted by the spirit of a child from the 1930s. Melanie Parkinson claims to have captured the presence of a young girl, whom she has named 'Amanda,' on camera. The images were taken using night vision technology on a new Samsung phone.

Spooky Sightings

Melanie, 47, stumbled upon the eerie figure in the mirror of the third bedroom of her Birtley home. She insists that the figure wore what looked like a 1930s-era dress. This unusual sighting, she says, reaffirms the various paranormal experiences she’s had in the past 16 years since they've lived in the rented house.

The Ghost Child 'Amanda'

The mother of three has related numerous instances of what she believes to be spectral activities. She mentions instances of curtains being closed seemingly on their own. Her partner, James Moyse, 44, also claims to have experienced mysterious events such as feeling as though his feet were being grabbed while lying in bed.

Pictures Confirm Paranormal Activity

Melanie believes that with these pictures, she has managed to visually validate the existence of a 'mischievous but friendly spirit' that she had perceived in the past. Speaking about her experiences, Melanie stated, "I felt fear and excitement all at once because it confirmed what I'd been experiencing. My new phone happened to have night vision on it so I just thought I'd have a walk around with the lights off to see what it looks like."

Living with a Ghost

Melanie claims to be accustomed to the haunted nature of her home. She expresses "I wanted to share it on Facebook without any prompting and people saw it right away. I've come to accept there are ghosts in the house. We bought the doll [because] we wanted to include her in Christmas and make her feel part of the family." Melanie conveys her understanding and homely acceptance of the ghost child, assuming that ‘Amanda’ inhabited the house before they did.

Living in a house built in 1931, Melanie expresses hope of understanding more about the history of her home and its past inhabitants. She also states to have always been in tune with ghosts, recalling her encounters with them since her childhood.
