Former Premier League Managers on the Cards for Lincoln City

Former Premier League Managers on the Cards for Lincoln City

Sam Allardyce Joins the Race to Become Lincoln City's New Manager

Former England boss Sam Allardyce is among the possible candidates to become the new head coach at Lincoln City, following the dismissal of Mark Kennedy on October 18. Under interim coach Tom Shaw, Lincoln City saw a small run of success with two wins and a draw enabling the board to consider their options carefully for the next position.

Interestingly, the guessing game of Lincoln City's next manager seems quieter this year compared to what's been the norm in previous seasons. Danny Cowley, a popular figure known for his successful stint at the club, tops the odds list as per Bet Victor.

A Look Back at Danny Cowley's Journey

During his tenure, Cowley, along with his brother Nicky, took the Imps on an impressive journey from the National League to League One. One of the significant achievements under the Cowley management was becoming the first non-league team in over a century to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals. They also journeyed to Wembley, bagging the Checkatrade Trophy.

Bookmakers' Odds

As per Bet Victor, Danny Cowley is at 7/4 odds to return to LNER Stadium. He’s followed closely by former Luton Town coach Nathan Jones at 2/1. Tom Shaw, the interim boss who's helped turn the tide for Lincoln’s fortune, is the third favourite at 4/1. Stephen Bradley, Shamrock Rovers boss, stands at 5/1.

While these are the favourites, there are also several former Premier League managers in the running. Sam Allardyce, former Bolton and England manager, entered the betting market on October 30 at 33/1. Notably, this is the same odds as two past Chelsea managers, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.
