American Burger Joint Five Guys Enters Lincolnshire

American Burger Joint Five Guys Enters Lincolnshire

Five Guys Burger Joint Arriving at Lincolnshire

An exciting new chapter begins for Lincolnshire's food lovers as American eatery, Five Guys, prepares for its first branch opening in the county. Renowned for its "boardwalk style" burgers, hot dogs, and fries, Five Guys will breathe new life into the Brayford Wharf in Lincoln, an area popular for its plethora of restaurants, pubs, and a cinema.

Replacing Handmade Burger Co.

The Five Guys outlet will sit on the premises previously occupied by Handmade Burger Co. which shut down in June last year. The building renovation has already received approval in July, and construction work started in mid-September. However, an official inauguration date is yet to be announced.

What to Expect From Five Guys?

Five Guys is a household name in the United States, best known for its burgers, hot dogs, and fries cooked in peanut oil. These dishes have been acclaimed by food critics, with Time Out magazine staff writers ranking the hot dog as the top item to try on the menu. A grilled cheese and cheeseburger are also much-acclaimed options.

"Let us know if you're planning a bonfire or fireworks event!"

The Five Guys menu also boasts an impressive offering of 250,000 possible topping variations for their sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs. A cheeseburger, one of their specialty items, costs £8.25, with an additional cost of 70p for bacon. Hot dogs are on the menu for £4.95, while fries are available for £4.50. Customers can further personalize their order with up to fifteen complementary toppings, which range from grilled onions and mushrooms to jalapenos and green peppers, not to mention classic options like tomato, lettuce, and pickles.

Points of Contention

There are, however, a few elements to their operation that have gathered mixed responses. One significant point of criticism is the use of peanut oil in their cooking, which poses a risk for allergy sufferers. In response, a spokesperson said:

"We by no means want to exclude guests from our stores, but at the same time would not want to disappoint our peanut-eating guests. We appreciate that nuts are one of the 14 common allergens and take the necessary precautions to avoid putting someone’s health at risk."

Overall Reception

Some residents have expressed concern over the pricing of the food, whilst other food lovers have shown their anticipation for the 'best burgers'. One local stated:

"Look expensive but worth every penny. Their fries are lovely."
