Historic Lincolnshire Manor Reopens for Special Festivities
A Grade I listed property situated on the Lincolnshire border, known as a 'hidden gem', prepares to welcome guests for a series of Christmas and autumn occasions. Harlaxton Manor, a magnificent 19th-century building on the fringes of Grantham will be the venue for these festive events.
The festive experience at Harlaxton Manor commences on the first Friday of December. The manor's ambiance will be enhanced to reflect that of a magical 'winter wonderland'. A highlight sure to catch the attention of the visitors is the 25ft Christmas tree proudly standing in the front circle of the manor.
December's Open House Events
During December, a string of open house events awaits guests. The events will be showcased throughout the Manor on December 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Promising an unforgettable experience, Bethan Price, the manor's Events Manager, preserves high hopes for these events.
"Our Christmas Open House really is set to be spectacular, with our biggest ever offering. There’ll be a choir performing by candlelight, twinkling lights illuminating the manor’s incredible architecture and, back by popular demand, our American candy shop will be offering visitors a way to satisfy their sweet tooth long before Christmas Dinner,”
An Autumn Joy Before Christmas Sparkle
Before the Christmas spectacle, an autumn festivity awaits visitors eager to explore the lush outdoors. On the weekends of October 28-29, Harlaxton Manor throws its doors open to let guests experience the charm of their gardens during the flush of autumn.
”If you can’t wait until December to enjoy our magnificent venue and its stunning views over the Vale of Belvoir, why not join us for our first ever open house in autumn - or as we call it, 'fall'. The manor is the UK campus of the University of Evansville in Indiana so we welcome hundreds of American students each year, so you’ll have to forgive us for the occasional Americanism. Whatever you call it, the Americans certainly know how to celebrate it and that gives our manor a unique twist you won’t find anywhere else,”
Pricing for these special occasions begins at £10 for children, and adult tickets are priced at £18. Concession tickets for those aged 65 or older cost £12, with infants under 2 years of age allowed free entry. A family pass for two adults and three children can be secured for an overall price of £45. The Manor last played host to visitors in August.
