Man Found Dead in Leicestershire: Murder Investigation Underway

The local police have identified a man who was tragically found dead in a field off Highgate Lane, Plungar, on the border between Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. The incident occurred at approximately 3.30pm on Tuesday, November 7. The deceased man has been recognised as Timothy Macdonald, also known as Don.

Death Treated as Suspicious

Mr. Macdonald is believed to have suffered a severe head injury. His death is presently being treated as suspicious by the police, keeping a murder investigation ongoing. The investigation led to the arrest of a man from Grantham who was later released but remains under investigation.

"We are heartbroken and devastated. Timothy was a much-loved son, father, brother and son-in-law who will be missed so much by all of us."

The family of the deceased has expressed severe anguish over the loss of their "much loved son, father, brother and son-in-law." Honouring their grief, they have requested privacy as they attempt to grapple with the tragic incident.

The police cordon that was earlier put in place at the scene in Plungar has now been lifted. The family also requested anyone who might have useful information about the incident to kindly reach out to the police.
