Cancellation of Lincolnshire Fireworks Display Leads to Estimated £10,000 Loss
In a disappointing turn of events, the anticipated fireworks display set to take place at Bowthorpe Park Farm in Bourne, Lincolnshire, this Saturday, has been cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions. As per the organisers, Bourne and District Round Table, the cancellation is expected to result in a considerable loss of around £10,000, funds which were supposed to aid various local causes. The group conveyed their distress over the unfortunate situation on social media.
"The persistent and heavy rain that we have experienced, along with the forecast for continued adverse weather, has left our car park unsuitable for use. Unfortunately, the venue is not accessible on foot, which has left us with no choice but to cancel the event in the interest of safety and accessibility," the event's organisers revealed.
Patrons who had purchased tickets for the event were assured by the organisers that their refunds will be promptly issued.
Call for Public Support
Beyond addressing general ticket refunds, the statement by the organisers also drew attention to the significant financial impact the event's cancellation will have on their supported charities. The estimated loss for this charity event totals up to more than £10,000.
"If you are in a position to help contribute to the costs incurred by the charities, we would greatly appreciate any donations, big or small, of your ticket money to support our charities. Your generosity will go a long way in helping us continue our charity work and future events," they appealed to the public.
