22-Year-Old Man Arrested After Trying to Evade Police
A 22-year-old male was taken into custody after an unusual high-speed chase that led him into a pond, hiding from police in Lincolnshire. He failed to stop when ordered to by law enforcement while speeding along Springbank Drive in Bourne.
Dramatic Car Chase
The young man abandoned his Ford Fiesta and attempted to evade officers on foot. One policeman gave pursuit. The chase led them to a saturated ditch, where the man attempted to hide. After leaving the ditch, he ran across Raymond Mays Way and towards a nearby woodland.
Caught by Drone
With the help of a drone operated by Lincolnshire Police, the fugitive was eventually discovered hiding in a pond. He was immediately arrested.
"The man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, driving while unfit through drink or drugs and possessing class A and B controlled drugs."
The 22-year-old remained in police custody and received medical care following his arrest. While police investigations are ongoing, he has been released on bail.
