Elderly Woman Assaulted in Busy Lincoln District
In a shocking daylight incident, an elderly woman in her 70s fell victim to an assault on Lincoln Road, North Hykeham. The crime took place on Wednesday, September 13 around 12:20 pm.
Details of the Incident
The woman reported being attacked by an unknown male at the junction with Elizabeth Avenue. The assault caused her to fall, and she suffered a verbal attack in addition to physical harm. The traumatic encounter has left the victim deeply shaken up and nursing an arm injury.
"The woman reported being approached by a man she didn't know...and getting struck, which knocked her to the floor. She also reported being verbally assaulted, and has been left very shaken."
Suspect Description
The suspected offender was described as a man in his 50s of approximately 5ft 10 to 6ft tall. He has short grey hair and wore blue jeans, a dark coloured jacket and light-coloured trainers.
Investigation Underway
Lincolnshire Police confirmed the assault occurred on a busy city road during broad daylight. The force believes potential witnesses may be able to provide information crucial to the investigation. They are especially interested in viewing any dashcam footage captured by the public in the Lincoln Road and surrounding streets between 12.20pm and 12.30pm.
The police are urging the public to provide any evidence that could assist in their investigation, regardless of how insignificant they may think it could be.
"Police are asking for anything that might help, no matter how small you think it is, to be shared with them to help the investigation."
