Tragic Collision on A52 in Lincolnshire Claims Two Lives
Tragedy struck Lincolnshire today when a two-car collision led to the death of two people and caused injuries to five. The accident took place on the A52, between Sandilands and Huttoft, near Mablethorpe.
Accident Investigation Underway
According to Lincolnshire Police, the collision involved a Vauxhall Astra and an Audi A4. The incident was reported at 3.38pm. The police are now seeking witnesses and urging anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Casualties of the Collision
"One of the passengers in the Astra was pronounced dead at the scene; two other passengers were taken to hospital where one person sadly died later. The driver was also transported to hospital with serious injuries." the police shared. Furthermore, "The rear-seat passenger in the Audi has been taken to hospital with injuries that are potentially life-altering and life-threatening. Both the driver and front-seat passenger were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening."
Road Closure & Police Appeal
Emergency services are continuing to work at the scene, resulting in an extended road closure. They expect the road to remain closed throughout much of the evening. The police are urging any witnesses or anyone with pertinent dashcam footage to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident 294 of 2 October.
