Man Sentenced for Manslaughter in Lincolnshire
A local man has been convicted for the killing of a pub landlord who was on a family holiday earlier this year. Gareth Hart, a 43-year-old man, was killed in Ingoldmells in April while on vacation.
Details of the Conviction
The court has found Joseph Malek, aged 33, guilty of manslaughter. However, the Lincoln Crown Court cleared him of the murder charges after a two-week trial. Malek is now in custody and is due for sentencing on November 3.
The Tragic Incident
The unfortunate incident took place near the Fantasy Grill & Balti on Sea Lane, as informed by the Lincolnshire Police. They received a call about an altercation on April 6, at about 1 in the morning. A 42-year-old male found at the scene had sustained injuries, and he tragically passed away soon after.
"His family have asked for privacy at this difficult time. We continue to investigate," a Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said adding, "Anyone with information, or anyone with dash cam footage in the Roman Bank area between 9pm on April 5 and 3am the following day, should contact us on 101, quoting incident 22 of April 6."
