Burgeoning Cannabis Operation Unearthed Amid Reported Burglary in Lincoln

In Lincoln, police while responding to a burglary came across an unexpected find: a full-scale cannabis grow operation. The incident occurred around 9.53pm on Monday, the 19th of September at a property on Arthur Street.

Unwanted Discovery in a Vacant Property

Apart from investigating the reported burglary, the officers stumbled upon approximately 70 mature cannabis plants inside the vacant property. The plants were spread across numerous rooms in the property.

Suspects On the Loose

The ongoing investigation reported three men fleeing from the scene of the property prior to the police arrival. The men were seen carrying a large bag and were last sighted heading in the direction of Norris Street and Shakespeare Street. Efforts are being ramped up to identify and locate these individuals.

Safety Measures Put in Place

On the matter of public safety, it was discovered that the electricity at the property had been illegally bypassed. Western Power was alerted and they have since remedied the situation ensuring safety. The cannabis plants located will be ultimately removed and destroyed.

Appeal for Information in the Ongoing Investigation

"Investigators remain on scene and in the local area today carrying out enquiries, and we would appeal to anyone with information to come forward. We are particularly keen to view any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage which might have captured three men in Arthur Street and the surrounding areas between 9.30pm and 10.15pm,"

said a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police. The police remain alert in the area, hoping for residents' cooperation in their investigation.
