Lincoln Neighbourhood Witnesses Youth Disorder, 24-Hour Dispersal Order Issued
A wave of youth chaos in a Lincoln neighbourhood provoked legal action from local authorities on Sunday, November 5th. Lincolnshire Police report an outbreak of fires and criminal activity started around 5.40pm causing tremendous havoc around Tower Avenue.
Fireworks Spur Authority Intervention
Upon intervention, the authorities were met with fireworks thrown at them. The disturbance, involving roughly 30 individuals, spanned several hours. This prompted the issuance of a 24-hour dispersal order in the affected area, lasting until 6.30pm the following day.
One Arrest Made in Early Stages of Investigation
One person was detained in connection with public order infractions. For officer safety, the police had to temporarily withdraw to reassess their strategy and reallocate resources, before resuming their duties in a safe manner.
"Officers pulled back temporarily to allow for strategic reassessment and resource regrouping hence ensuring the safety of our team,"
Joint Police and Fire Service Response
The Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue service were also alerted, who collaborated with the police to re-enter the area and successfully extinguish all ignited fires by 10.15pm.
Police Maintain overnight Vigilance
To maintain peace, officers stayed overnight in the neighbourhood, offering reassurances and information to anxious residents. Locals are urged to engage with the officers for advice and updates on the situation.
