Lincoln Monster Invasion Takes Over the City
Eight notorious figures will soon descend on Lincoln, as part as a prominent festive event, taking the city into their colossal, inflatable grasp from October 23 until October 29. The Lincoln Monster Invasion, facilitated by the City of Lincoln Council, is one of the replacement events for this year's absent Christmas Market, and coincides with the half-term holiday.
Monstrous Event Details
Eight gargantuan inflatable monsters will take their spots among the rooftops of Lincoln city - from Castle Square to the University of Lincoln. The event is graced by the support of Lincoln BIG, an organisation committed to improving the city's business environment. Autumn evenings will see these behemoths illuminating the darkness, offering visitors a unique night-time tour of the city, following the glowing trail of the creatures.
City Councillor Naomi Tweddle, portfolio holder for Inclusive Economic Growth at City of Lincoln Council said, "Through significant consultation with residents, visitors, and businesses, free activity during holidays for families and adults alike was requested, and the monsters have proven incredibly popular in other cities nearby".
Despite their awe-inspiring size of up to 7 metres tall during the day, it is at night when these creatures truly bring the city to life. Weekend live entertainment and the returning Frequency Festival from October 26-29 will accompany the Lincoln Monster Invasion, confirming its status as an enticing event for the city.
Simon Beardsley, managing director at Lincoln BIG, said "These giant inflatable monsters will be a brilliant addition to the city during half term, offering some light-hearted fun in Lincoln driving footfall to the area and supporting local businesses".
