Man Charged with Assaulting Two Young Adults in Lincoln

A 30-year-old man is facing charges after two teenagers were reportedly assaulted outside a pub in Lincoln. Alex Hayward, who has no fixed address, allegedly attacked an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman outside Wetherspoons pub on High Street.

The Incident on Tuesday Night

Reports detail how the assaults occurred around 10:05 pm on Tuesday, September 19. The young adults told officers that they were approached by a man they did not know, who proceeded to punch and slap them.

Hayward Arrested and Charged

Response officers apprehended Hayward at 10:49 pm, not far from where the alleged events unfolded. Following further investigations, Hayward was charged with two counts of common assault the following morning.

Hayward was brought before the Lincoln Magistrates' Court, where he has been remanded into custody. He will remain in custody until a further hearing scheduled for Thursday, September 28.
