Brothers' Unique Takeaway App Supports Local Eateries

Brothers' Unique Takeaway App Supports Local Eateries

Parfitt Brothers Start New Local Takeaway App

Ashley and Gavin Parfitt are launching a unique app to support independent takeaways in Lincoln. The Lincoln Eats app will feature local independent eateries, offering food at lower rates than competing applications.

Ashley, although not from the food industry initially, had worked in different roles before turning his attention towards the service sector. The incentive for creating the app reportedly began in February 2023, when Ashley observed high prices for takeaway food, similar to dining in a restaurant.

"We noticed there is nothing really for local restaurants and takeaways. Local eateries have to be on these apps but getting charged huge custom and can't afford to leave the app," Ashley said.

Focus on Local Eateries

Lincoln Eats aims to spotlight independent takeaways, unlike other apps where larger brands are prioritized. The brothers hope to platform all independent restaurants in Lincoln on their app.

"Our goal is to have every independent restaurant on the app. We have got some really great places to eat in the city and there are people who might not know they are there," added Ashley.

The app works similar to other available apps, but with exclusive focus on independent takeaways in the city, and offering cheaper delivery prices. More than 20 local food businesses have already joined the application, which is set to be launched in early November.

`Enact Change` in Lincoln

Co-director of the app, Gavin Parfitt, shared their vision of bringing about change in the Lincoln food business scenario by supporting local eateries. They aim to combat high commission fees, unsupportive corporates, and competition from chain restaurants, all amid a cost of living crisis.

"By offering local business owners much lower fees and working closely with them we will be able to offer the great people of Lincoln a much cheaper alternative to the national apps when they go to order their favourite cuisine," said Gavin.

Several Lincoln eateries like Tasty Toast Cafe, The Greek Brothers, Lincoln Grill House and Monks Road Chippy, have already signed up to be included in the Lincoln Eats app.
