The players were hastily escorted back to their dressing rooms, as medical professionals at the scene sprung into action to provide medical assistance to Derek.
All attempts of reviving him by the on-site paramedics, doctors, and Lincoln City's London Ambulance Service proved futile as, unfortunately, Derek still lost his life.

Derek's family has been invited to lead the teams out of the tunnel at the start of the game.
