Lincs FM Announces Exciting Changes to Programme Schedule

The independent radio station based in Lincolnshire, Lincs FM, is introducing a new radio schedule featuring famous personalities. This introduction of a refreshed playlist as part of the Hits Radio Network programming will commence from Monday, October 23.

New Famous Personalities Joining the Line-Up

The celebrity line-up includes Fleur East, Sam Thompson, Gemma Atkinson, and Sarah Jane Crawford who will be joining the existing roster along with Joseph Begley, the host of the weekday breakfast show. These changes imply that the current programs apart from the Breakfast show will conclude this week and make way for the new schedule.

Local News and Special Shows to Continue

Apart from the new celebrity-hosted shows, Lincs FM assures its listeners that it will continue to broadcast local news, traffic, travel, and other local information across the day on its station and digital platforms. The Farming Programme, currently hosted by Steve Orchard as part of the Sunday Breakfast show, will keep its weekend morning slot between 6 and 9am.

The revised playlist will align with the Hits Radio Network's offerings which include 'the biggest hits and biggest throwbacks' featuring songs from the 90s up to the present.

Transition Towards Offering National Brands

Gary Stein, group programme director for the Hits Radio Brand Network, highlighted the recent shift in radio preferences. "Radio in local markets has seen a huge change in recent years, with more national brands introduced as audiences seek out shows from well-known names."

While aggrandizing this realignment, he emphasized the value of local content, "While the Lincs FM name is being retained, we see an opportunity to bolster the station by offering audiences an exciting new schedule along with all the local news and content that we know is important to them." He also expressed his gratitude to the existing presenters, "My thanks to all of the presenting teams who have been part of the Lincs FM story to date, and we wish them all the very best."
