Lincolnshire's Favourite Attractions Revealed in Visit England's Annual Survey

Visit England has released its highly anticipated annual survey, highlighting the most popular attractions across the country. Lincolnshire's own Belton House has taken the top spot as the most visited attraction in the East Midlands in 2023, with several other local favourites making the list.

Free Attractions in Lincolnshire

Bransby Horses in Lincoln has been revealed as the most visited free attraction in Lincolnshire, welcoming an impressive 49,500 visitors in 2023. The Museum of Lincolnshire Life in Lincoln took second place with 36,564 visitors, while Lincoln St. Mary Magdalene came in third with 21,814 visitors.

Paid Attractions in Lincolnshire

Belton House recorded an impressive 358,078 visitors, making it the third most visited paid attraction in the East Midlands. Rand Farm Park near Market Rasen took second place with 108,533 visitors, while the International Bomber Command Centre came in third with 104,105 visitors.

Other Lincolnshire attractions that made the lists included Skegness Natureland Seal Sanctuary, Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, Tattershall Castle, and Caistor Arts & Heritage Centre.

National Trends

Attractions in England reported an 11 per cent increase in total visits from 2022 to 2023, although this figure remains 28 per cent below 2019 levels. Museums and art galleries, as well as places of worship, saw the highest increase in visits year on year, with 20 per cent and 19 per cent respectively.

The British Museum was the most visited free attraction in 2023, attracting a staggering 5.8 million visitors, up 42 per cent on 2022. The Tower of London took the top spot as the most visited paid attraction, welcoming 2.8 million visitors, up 38 per cent on 2021.
