Four Arrested Following Scampton Base Ruckus

Lincolnshire Police took into custody four people amid reports of an assault and disorder outside the former RAF Scampton base entrance. The arrests were made earlier today, at around 1:11 pm.

Details of the Arrests

A 56-year-old man hailing from the Yorkshire area has been held on suspicion of assault and aggravated trespass. Also implicated on charges of aggravated trespass were a 44-year-old man from the Grimbsy area, a 51-year-old woman from the Yorkshire area, and a 42-year-old man from the Lincoln area. As of the latest report, all four remain in police custody, awaiting interview.

"We try to keep it peaceful. People come here from all over the country to protest. A lot of people are terrified that the school is so close to the camp. Most of the people here are concerned and vulnerable people." - these were the words of protestor Tom Winter, 61, from Lincoln.

Ensuring Public Safety

Following the incident, officers stayed in the area for several hours, communicating with those lawfully and peacefully protesting. Lincolnshire Police encourages anyone unapproached yet by officers to step forward with any relevant information.

The force assured that they plan on maintaining regular patrols in the forthcoming days while the protest lasts. They aim to ensure the safety of both protestors and the local community. The Police department also issued a stern warning against potential troublemakers, stating that disorder causing activities will not be tolerated and reinforcing their commitment to protect the area's residents.

Request for Citizens' Co-operation

The Lincolnshire Police asks for everyone's co-operation and patience during this time. They promise to provide guidance regarding safe and lawful protest methods for those stationed at the site.
