Long-standing presenter of BBC Look North, Peter Levy, has made public his return to the live midday slot, reuniting with friend and colleague, weatherman Paul Hudson. Mr Levy, who has been a key news anchor for the programme since 2002, is due to present the 1:30pm news every day from Monday, October 30th. This will serve as an additional role to his existing position as the 6:30pm news show presenter.
Old Favorites Reunited
"There'll be Peter and Paul, twice every day." Says Levy, revealing his enthusiasm to be back in the afternoon slot after a gap of 21 years. "It's quite something to go back on the lunchtime slot. We're really looking forward to it."
Rewinding Time
Adding to the excitement, he said, "Some people who watched Look North 21 years ago would have seen Paul and me together every day. So we're turning the clock back, in some ways." The witty banter between the two is beloved by viewers, sparking regular viral moments and laughter fits on screen.
Referring to the scheduling of the midday news, Levy acknowledges it as 'quite the achievement', owing to the short gap between waking up and the news going live on air.
The History of 'Look North'
'Look North', the BBC's television news service caters to East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The service, launched in 1968, included Levy in their team in 1986, who later took over as the weekday presenter in 2002.
