Grantham's St Peter's Hill to Welcome New Aesthetics Academy

Former Council Office to Undergo Transformation into Beauty Salon

Grantham's St Peter's Hill is set to welcome a new beauty salon, as the former office of South Kesteven District Council has been given the green light for conversion. The building, which previously housed the council's customer services centre, will soon be home to an expanded Alana's Aesthetics Academy.

A New Chapter for the Building

The 20th-century building, situated adjacent to the Grade II listed Guildhall and Sessions Hall, will undergo a change of use, with no external works required. The application, submitted by Alana Leigh, owner of Alana's Aesthetics Academy, was approved by the council's planning department.

A Year of Growth for Alana's Aesthetics Academy

This development marks a significant milestone for Alana Leigh, who opened her salon on New Beacon Road just a year ago. The new location will enable her to take her business to the next level, offering a wider range of services to clients.

"I am thrilled to have received approval for this new venture and look forward to bringing a new level of aesthetics services to the people of Grantham." - Alana Leigh

A Smooth Approval Process

Planning officers were satisfied that the development would not have an adverse effect on the character or visuals of the area, and with no objections raised, the application was approved in a routine decision.

Future Plans

Alana's Aesthetics Academy has three years to commence works on the building from the date of approval, July 16, 2024. Meanwhile, a separate application to convert another part of the former council offices into 24 self-contained flats was approved in November 2023.
