Major Revamp Planned for Skegness Pub

Skegness Pub to Receive £290,000 Overhaul

A well-known pub in Skegness, The Highwayman Inn, is set to undergo a major refurbishment under new management. A whopping £290,000 will be spent to bring the pub back to life by Star Pubs and Bars, a company owned by Heineken. The project is set to create five jobs.

Big Changes Ahead

The Highwayman Inn will not only receive a significant revamp in its physical appearance, but will also be known under a new name: 'The Jack Snipe.' The exciting transformation will see an updated games room, an extended outdoor area, and a fresh menu. The revitalisation effort will be led by Jayne Longden, a pub owner from Nottingham, and her partner Carl Shaw, who will be in charge of the kitchen.

"Taking over The Highwayman is a dream come true. Carl and I escape to Skegness whenever we can and are customers of The Highwayman when we visit. We love Skegness and have always wanted a pub here. When The Highwayman became available, I jumped at the chance. It’s been closed on and off over recent years and is rundown but, thanks to the regulars, is still very friendly. The Jack Snipe will be beautiful when the works are completed. We're counting the weeks to the reopening." - Jayne Longden

The Grand Opening Set for November

Renovation works are expected to commence on Monday, 25 September and the reopening is slated for mid-November. In addition to aesthetic improvements, the project will also comprise of a new seating area, secure children's play zone, dedicated dog area, sports and games facilities, and a menu makeover featuring traditional pub classics. The pub will serve an extensive selection of drinks, including cocktails and coffee.

Jayne Longden and her team are enthusiastically awaiting the reopening, eager to show off their newly renovated local pub.
