Lincolnshire Coastal Medical Centre Construction Reaches Major Milestone

Major Milestone Reached in Construction of Lincolnshire Coastal Medical Centre

A significant stage has been achieved in the construction of a coastal medical campus in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire, well in advance of its 2024 completion date. The Campus for Future Living, once completed, will comprise a primary centre, research facility and residential block.

Boost for Local Wellbeing

The Lincolnshire county council has high hopes for the £8.6 million project, indicating that the campus will greatly enhance the health and wellbeing of residents in Mablethorpe, the Lincolnshire coast, and the wider region of East Lindsey.

Chris Baron, chairman of project supporter Connected Coast, stated, "This is a hugely significant milestone for the Campus for Future Living and one that brings us a step closer to the site becoming operational."

Developmental Hub for Medical Technology

Apart from serving the health requirements of the local population, the campus will also be a centre for the development and testing of medical technology. Connected Coast further revealed that the campus will support budding clinicians with clinical and non-clinical placements at the new medical school of the University of Lincoln.

Celebrating Progress

To celebrate the completion of the roofing stage of the construction, Lindum Construction organised a topping-out ceremony. Various council officials attended, as did Victoria Atkins, the MP for Louth and Horncastle.

She expressed, "The completion of building the Campus for Future Living marks another step forward as part of the government investment of the nearly £24 million in our Mablethorpe Towns Deal. I am looking forward to the future development of the site and what it will bring to the local community."
