Bubblecar Museum Café Closed Due to Health Concerns

In a sudden turn of events, the Bubblecar Museum Café in Langrick, Lincolnshire, has been forced to close after pest infestation issues were flagged by local council health officers. The East Lindsey District Council moved swiftly to issue a Hygiene Emergency Closure Order for the café on Wednesday, October 4th.

Public Complaint Sparks Investigation

After a complaint regarding pest infestation made by a member of the public, an Environmental Health team visited the café on Saturday, September 30th. It was during their inspection officers saw evidence of the pests, with mouse droppings on kitchen surfaces being particularly notorious. The council decided that these conditions pose immediate health risks to the public and called for an emergency closure.

Hygiene Order Issued to Business Operator

Ms Ashleigh-Morris, the operator of the food business, was served with the Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Order. She is legally obliged to rectify these hygiene concerns, in line with the law.

"Ensuring the health and safety of our community is our top priority. I commend the swift action taken by Environmental Health Officers in addressing these concerns reported to us," stated Councillor Martin Foster, portfolio holder for operational services.

He went on to echo that although the temporary closure is regrettable, it is vitally necessary to rectify the situation and safeguard the public's health. Councillor Foster also reiterated how rare it is to enforce such measures, reserved only for severe health risks.

"I appreciate the community's understanding, and I'm confident that, with everyone's cooperation, the café will soon reopen, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all", said Councillor Foster.

Museum Operations Continue as Normal

Whilst the café is currently closed, the museum aspect of the business remains unaffected. Visitors are still welcome to enjoy this part of the operation during regular hours.
