Boston United Supporter Collapses During Match
In a disconcerting incident at Windsor Foodservice Stadium last Saturday, Boston United supporter, Keith Harrison collapsed during the club's FA Cup fixture against Worksop Town FC.
Suspension of Play
The match was momentarily suspended in the 36th minute when fans from both teams alerted officials to the situation on the ground behind the goal, opposite the clubhouse end.
Medical Response and Condition
Mr Harrison was immediately taken to Bassetlaw Hospital and later transferred to Doncaster Royal Infirmary according to a representative for Lincolnshire's side. Reports state that he remains in a stable condition.
The Tigers' spokesperson expressed gratitude for those who assisted in the situation. "Chairman Pete Whitehead has spoken to Keith, who has asked us to pass on his thanks to those who helped him through the situation and the supporters for their co-operation during the incident," the spokesperson stated.
Gratitude Towards Medical Staff
Along with the club's staff, players, and fans, credit was given to the medical personnel. "The club would also like to thank Amanda Parry and our physio Jordan Parkin for the work they did in looking after Keith from a medical standpoint," the spokesperson continued. The club extends its well wishes to Keith and his family during this challenging time.
Resumption of the Match
After a significant pause, the teams returned to the pitch to finish the first half and stoppage time. The match ended with Boston United losing 3-2 to Worksop Town FC leaving supporters of the Pilgrims in disappointment.
