The International Bomber Command Centre Honoured with Multiple Awards
A cherished memorial centre situated near Lincoln, the International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC), has gained several more accolades for its commendable work this year, augmenting its already swelling awards collection.
Recognising Excellence in History, Culture and Art
The most recent trophy for the IBCC is the prestigious Arts, Culture, and Heritage Award from Destination Lincolnshire. This latest victory is their fifth recognition of this year alone. The announcement of the achievement comes hot on the heels of receiving the Bronze Award for Excellence 2023 from Visit England, an esteemed award that classifies IBCC amongst notable recipients such as Blenheim Palace and Warner Bros Studio.
Act of Remembrance and Education
Since its inauguration in 2018, the International Bomber Command Centre has seen over 400,000 guests from a total of 52 countries. The centre aims to acknowledge, commemorate and foster understanding of Bomber Command's critical role during World War Two. For this purpose, IBCC maintains one of the largest digital libraries of firsthand historical documents, passionately conserved, safeguarded, and publicized by the centre's team and volunteers.

In its five years of operation, the International Bomber Command Centre has amassed over 30 awards. However, the work extends beyond being a memorial and historic centre. It has become an integral part of the local community offering a popular café frequented by regular visitors. Looking forward, the centre plans further success in educating people about the brave individuals who served in Bomber Command and made significant sacrifices for our freedom.
Visiting Hours
The International Bomber Command Centre welcomes visitors from 9.30am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. The last entry to the exhibition is at 4pm. Please note, in consideration of winter, the closing time will be reduced to 4pm from November 14.
